We’re Anne and Colleen, two friends on a journey to live healthy and positive lives through good choices.
As women who, like a fine wine, are slowly improving with age, we are looking for ways to positively impact our world through our choices.
Gaining new perspective after major loss and trauma, we are looking for ways to live better and be better to all people and the planet through our actions.
As working professionals in Chicago, we want to be fashionable, yet ethical. We want to feel great about what we put in, on, and near our bodies. When we know where our products are made and by whom, and what they contain (harmful or not), we feel closer to our world and our community.
We believe in the journey literally as well. Travel exposes us to new cultures, experiences, and joys; it gives us new perspective on our lives and the world. Even small journeys in our communities spark joy and new perspective, whether it’s a nature walk or neighborhood exploration.
That said, we’re not always living an ideal sustainable life full of journeys. Some weekends we skip yoga and binge on Netflix. We sometimes eat popcorn for dinner, made with organic fair-trade coconut oil of course (Colleen), and biscuits, made with cow butter (Anne).
While we’re working women, we’re not millionaires. Our budgets don’t allow for all the latest ethical fashions or a life of purchasing green smoothies every day.
That’s why we call this Journey to Good. We realize our journey to good is exactly that, it’s a lifelong journey to live ethically and sustainably, on a reasonable budget.
We hope you’ll join us on your own journey as we explore how to make the process a fulfilling lifestyle.
